Barry Fanaro is an award winning comedy writer with 30 years of experience working in television and feature films. He was the Executive Writer/Producer on the beloved comedy, THE GOLDEN GIRLS, during it’s first four seasons and 102 episodes. He won an Emmy For Outstanding Writing in 1986. He won a second Emmy For Best Comedy/Producer in 1987. He was nominated again in 1988. He won the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Writing in 1987. He was nominated for another WGA Award in 1988. He is also a three time Golden Globe Winner For Best Comedy, THE GOLDEN GIRLS in 1986, 1987, & 1988. In the 1990’s, Fanaro turned his attention to feature films. His screenplays include: KINGPIN, THE CREW, MEN IN BLACK II, and I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY. Selected production re-writes include ANALYZE THIS, MY FAVORITE MARTIAN, BIG TROUBLE, and WHAT’S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN? From 2009 to the present he has had five original feature films optioned and in development.
