The Groundlings School has been one of the leading improv training programs in the country for 40 years.
Classes last 6–12 weeks and are held at the Groundlings Theatre, as well as the Groundlings School across the street. New classes are posted every Monday at 1pm., 4–6 weeks in advance.

Each group audition consists of improv exercises designed to assess your placement in either Improv Workshop A or Basic Improv.
Designed for students interested in progressing through The Groundlings School, the Core Track is comprised of Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Improv. An audition is required to enroll in Basic Improv.
After successfully completing the Core Track, students can develop their sketch writing and performing skills in Writing Lab and Advanced Writing Lab levels, which also include performances.
Teen classes are divided into two age groups: 11–14 and 15–18. Five-class Teen Workshops and one-day Teen Drop-in classes focus on the fundamentals of short-form improv. Workshop classes culminate in a performance. Teen classes are offered on weekends during the school year, and daily (M–F) over the summer months.
